So, do you feel it is a safe neighborhood in which to raise a family?
One of the blogs I read was very negative and so now I wondered.
The park looks beautiful!!

Jane Dermyer, I have lived here my whole life and still feel safe. Anywhere one lives you still have to exercise caution and know the vicinity. Those who are so negative are the ones who don’t want to do anything to make it better. Please visit one of our meetings. Pat

Great photos of our beautiful neighborhood. Would be nice to add some shots of the various seasons- it’s not always green in Northeast!

I have been raising twin girls who are now 8 since their birth in this neighborhood. We chose to live here for various reasons. We are no less safe here than in Johnson County Kansas. We are not going anywhere.

I live in Indian Mound, however, I’m concerned with an issue that affects the entire Northeast area, and that is the loud and outragious colors and color schemes that are showing up on buidings in our area. Our neighborhood is beginning to look more like a circus rather than a respectable neighborhood. I believe it is in the best interest of Old Northeast to put a stop to what is becoming the norm here and restore dignity to a once fine neighborhood!

I agree with C. Rivera! I have went round and round with the city about this problem, but they say there’s nothing they can do about it. The how next to me was PINK for years, finally there was enough code violations that the city started citing them. The home was bought about a year and a half ago by a young couple that beautifully restored it. We need to come together and compain to the city enough that is will force them to do something. There were over 200 complaints on this house before the city did anything. The best part about it was, the owner was a call taker for the city codes administration.
